MERCHANDISE ANALYST (Calgary, AB)
at Human Resources in Calgary
A leading brand retailer requires a Merchandise Analyst to work closely with the buying team to perform the following responsibilities but is not limited to:
Order Management
o PO entry, tracking and cancellation
o Providing vendors with ATS# and verifying orders upon arrival
o Assisting warehouse with receiving
o Vendor relations (specifically in regards to shipping and replenishments)
Inventory Management
o Maintain and forecast weekly sales projections for key basic items particular focus will fall on denim replenishments
o Denim counts (sending, receiving & correcting inventory)
o Consolidation of merchandise mid and end of season
o Warehouse restocks
o Return authorizations to vendors
o Store support – style maintenance, pricing issues, late store transfers/ distro documents
Administrative
o Data entry – markdowns, budgeting, pricing
o Provide weekly/daily business reporting and tracking to Merchandise team
o Liaising with the buying team on product lines to incorporate market/product knowledge
o Filing
o Other tasks assigned by buyers
Warehouse Support
o Manage merchandise fixtures (hangers, security tags, etc.)
o Ability to perform all warehouse functions when needed (incl. receiving, transferring, shipping etc)
Office Management (for a period of time)
o Office & kitchen supply, repairs & maintenance, reception & mail
o Flexibility to perform tasks as needed
Qualifications
· Detail oriented with strong problem-solving, planning and organizational skills
· Experience of data analysis and have the ability to identify and understand patterns of data and interpret effects, therefore identifying appropriate action
· A well organized approached to work and possess strong time management skills with the ability to remain proactive
· Proven ability to manage projects independently and to work as part of a team
· Ability to work in a fast paced environment and recognize and react to changing work demands
· Goal orientated with strong ability to stay focused
· Excellent interpersonal skills supporting a team environment
· Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
· Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is a must have
· Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Outlook
· Awareness of the fashion, footwear and/or apparel industries
· Ability to lift up to 20lbs
· Valid Driver’s license and vehicle
Relevant Work Experience
· 1-2+ Years
Education Level
· Diploma preferred
