Helpdesk/Network Support Analyst (Calgary, AB)

Job Summary
Reporting to the IT Manager, the Helpdesk/Network Support Analyst provides support and maintenance of network technologies and assistance on projects as assigned.
General Responsibilities:
? Provides day to day technical support to end users.
? Responsible for building all desktops and notebooks.
? Provide day to day maintenance of network technologies.
? Monitor and maintain the data center environment.
? Maintain effective communication skills with co-workers and firm members.
? Be available on the Blackberry with respect to on-call emergency situations.
? Occasionally work evenings and weekends
? Assists the IT Group in maintaining the IT software and hardware inventory database.
? Trains new employees on the use of the network and software commonly used by the firm and in accordance with the firm’s expectations.
? Keeps abreast of trends through ongoing reading, professional development and attendance at courses and seminars.
? Participates in the Performance Planning and Review program.
Support Responsibilities
Network Administration:
? Assist in maintenance of Cisco network equipment
? Assist in administration and maintenance of Windows Server 2003 servers.
Network Architecture & Administration
? Assist the IT Manager in planning long term requirements of software operations and administration.
Hardware
? Monitor and maintain servers, workstations, printers, communication devices and switches.
? Monitor and maintain the physical datacenter environment.
? Assist and lead in the integration and maintenance of workstations.
? Responsible for building all desktops and notebooks.
? Provide Blackberry support and upgrades.
Software
Operating Systems
? Install and maintain Windows Server 2003, Windows 2000, Windows XP and Windows Vista workstations.
Departmental Software
? Installs and maintains Accounting/ Finance related software, including upgrades.
Administrative Software
? Installs and maintains and upgrades non-Accounting/ Finance related software such as Microsoft Office and Corel products.
Other Responsibilities
? Ensures that personal time is posted at least weekly.
? Adheres to standard office protocols: booking of meeting rooms, checking email and voicemail regularly, advising others of whereabouts, being punctual for meetings and appointments, etc.
? Other duties as assigned.
Education Requirements:
? Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) an asset.
? Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA) or greater an asset.
? Post secondary IT education is required.
Technical Requirements
? Knowledge of MS Windows 2000/ XP/Vista operating systems
? Knowledge of MS Windows Server 2000/2003
? Ability to self-teach and learn computer systems
? Knowledge of MS Office products
? Knowledge of accounting and tax software an asset
? Knowledge of VMware Virtualization software an asset
? Willingness to work outside normal office hours as required
