Job Objectives:

Responsible for the daily operations of the Tank Farm, including marine and rail aspects for the company. Ensure that all fire and safety precautions and regulations are being adhered to. Monitor all fuel transfer equipment and vehicles and ensure fuel quality standards are maintained and fuel quantities are accurately inventoried and recorded. Ensure that everything possible is being done to protect customer’s stored fuel from loss or contamination. Ensure proper security is being maintained throughout the Tank Farm to protect assets from accidental loss or vandalism. Carry out other assignments as directed by the Fuel Service Supervisor.

Essential Job Functions:
1. Load/Unload railway tank cars while maintaining quality control and volume verification as per tank car unloading procedures.
2. Load or discharge fuel to/from ocean going vessels transferring to/from designated fuel storage tanks while maintaining quality control and volume verification.
3. Transfer fuels as required from tank to tank, tank to truck, truck to tank etc.
4. Pump water accumulations from overflow containment areas.
5. Monitor and record all aspects of fuel movement.
6. Complete reports and inventories as required.
7. Draw samples for testing locally or at a major laboratory and complete any associated documentation.
8. Assist with customer inquiries, requests and complaints.
9. Process any and all package product orders received and ensure they are properly packaged for delivery and orders are accurate.
10. Process any and all drummed fuel orders received that are required to be filled at the Tank Farm. Ensure the drums are clean, free of leaks and properly stenciled and stickered. Ensure delivery of said drum orders to their mode of transportation by use of delivery vehicles ie: 3 ton truck, 1 ton truck, tractor trailer.
11. On occasion load drummed fuel, package product, etc onto aircraft in a safe and efficient manner under the direction of the appropriate airline charter company.
12. Direct and work closely with summer hires to ensure they are following proper safety procedures and completing required tasks.
13. Effect repairs on all fuel transfer systems and related equipment.
14. Perform regular yearly maintenance on fuel transfer equipment ie: grease/repack valves, grease pumps etc.
15. Assist the Fuel Service Supervisor in month end inventories by providing accurate package product counts and fuel tank dips.
16. Perform quality control for Shell aviation and ensure that a steady supply of rail cars are available to meet Shell’s requirements to maintain an accurate inventory of Shell Fuel. Work closely with Shell auditors to ensure all documentation is in compliance and that inventory balances match.
17. Monitor CMTF bulk fuel requirements and advise the Fuel Service Supervisor when additional supplies are required.
18. Responsible for exercising due diligence throughout the entire CMTF fuel storage and distribution system.
19. Hold and maintain a valid Class 2 or higher driver’s licence.
20. Perform general yard maintenance including snow removal and various road and yard repairs, yard clean-up, and building maintenance. Advise the Fuel Service Supervisor of any repairs required by outside contractors.
21. Perform any Capital Projects that can be completed by CMTF staff.
22. Cross trained to be able to fill in for Fuel Delivery and Airport Operators as required.

Qualifications
1. Must hold and maintain a valid Class 2 driver’s licence with Air Endorsement.
2. Must hold a valid Airside Vehicle Operating Permit.
3. Complete a Canadian Coast Guard Spill Response Course.
