We are looking for a candidate to be responsible for managing the installation, configuration, maintenance and problem resolution of the hardware, operating system, network components and layered software on the infrastructure. We need you to:
• Assist in the installation, configuration, maintenance and problem resolution for enterprise hardware, operating system software and the corporate network.
• Administers and monitors corporate servers and network configurations to maximize performance and availability and minimize costs.
• Ensures adherence to relevant performance and availability Service Level Agreements (SLA's).
• Evaluates, designs, configures and integrates requirements for servers, associated peripherals, network and enterprise applications to meet new / changing organizational requirements according to industry standards and best practices.
• Evaluates and implements utilities for security reporting, investigates potential threats; proposes solutions and implements solutions for security counter-measures; enforces IT security policies through technical means.
• Establishes technical priorities, standards and procedures.
• Ensures compliance and concurrency for system maintenance, driver and patch management.
• Implements operating system modifications; tunes and configures operating systems software.
• Diagnoses, prioritizes and resolves problems / issues escalated by the Help Desk and other information systems staff providing tier-2 and tier-3 levels of support.
• Liaises with application support staff to determine optimal system performance, capacity and stability requirements; identifies and recommends upgrade requirements/enhancements.
• Maintains and monitors the development, staging and production environments using tools such as Microsoft Operation Manager (MOM), Systems Management Server (SMS), etc.
• Ensures that development, test and production environments are created and maintained for applications.
• Implements Change Control procedures and manages the Change Control process to ensure the integrity of the development, test and production environments.
• Plans and implements the backup process for servers.
• Schedules regular, preventative maintenance and/periodic service on all systems servers and network equipment as required.
• Ensures that our ongoing work and service standards are met by setting priorities for own workload as well as Technical Support staff.
REQUIREMENTS
• At least 2-3 years experience in a similar role as a tier 2/3 support and systems analyst in a medium to large organization (100+ staff)
• MCSA or MCSE 2000/2003 certification.
• In-depth experience with the following server technologies:
• Windows 2003 Server, Active Directory, SQL Server, Exchange
• Systems Management Server (SMS), Microsoft Operations Manager (MOM),
• Virtual Server
• Backup/restore, storage, clustering load balancing
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills, critical to troubleshooting networking issues and analysis of system and network performance.
• In-depth experience with information security technologies including firewalls, VPN, content filtering, encryption, anti-virus, anti-spyware, anti-spam, etc.
• In-depth experience in an enterprise setting in the areas of:
• OS installation and management using automation tools.
• Application installations using GPO's, scripts and system management tools.
• Microsoft Active directory configuration, internals, security and best practices.
• Microsoft operating systems implementation, management and support.
• Expert knowledge of SMTP, DNS, WINS, DHCP, and other foundation services.
• Scripting and automation for systems/service management.
• Overtime required on occasion, evenings and/or weekend.
• Vehicle and valid license required.

• Displays a positive attitude towards complex challenges and problems as well as routine maintenance and administration tasks.
• Strong inter-personal skills with a polished and professional manner.
