ABCRC is a provincially incorporated not-for-profit product stewardship corporation. Our mandate is to be the agent for the beverage manufacturers to operate a common collection system for registered containers, to be responsible for recycling beverage containers, to comply with regulation and BCMB by-laws, and to promote the economic and efficient collection of beverage containers. www.abcrc.com

Program – 2009 Back to School Campaign
An interactive and educational staffed promotional booth will travel to campuses in Southern Alberta, promoting the importance of beverage container recycling to post-secondary students. The Recycling Street Team (RST) is staffed by Albertans who act as brand ambassadors of ABCRC and who are also responsible for set-up, daily maintenance of display, engaging/interacting with the public, and providing recycling infrastructure at events.

Position Description
These responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Coordinate and review travel plans with ABCRC
• Track and submit expenses and time-sheets in a timely manner
• Responsible for the accurate and effective delivery of information at events on campuses
• Provide on-site greeting and engagement with the public at large
• Coordinate the day-to-day activities at events
• Report brief, event overviews for each campus
• Work closely with the ABCRC Marketing Manager and ensures that the RST meets its objectives

Qualifications
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with others in a team situation
• Enthusiastic, outgoing, hardworking, mature, positive
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to take initiative, exercise tact and discretion
• Flexible and adaptable to constantly shifting situations and priorities
• Physical ability to perform the duties of the job such as display set-up, lifting boxes of materials, long periods of sitting while traveling
• Flexible schedule; required to work weekdays, evenings and weekends; must be able to travel overnight on some occasions
• Must be willing to wear a Mascot costume for some events as required
• Current driver’s license

Accommodation, meals and transportation costs will be covered while outside of the Calgary metro area.
