Reporting to the Installation Supervisor, the Installation Technicians are responsible for achieving successful and profitable installation, service of audio visual systems and equipment to all customer facilities. Day-to-day activities include such items as low-voltage termination of cabling (including soldering); hammer drilling, cable pulling, software configuration and final systems check-out. You will be able to complete assigned tasks quickly and follow up on any outstanding tasks.
You will have a minimum of grade 12 education. Experience within the audio visual/electronics industry with one year in installation, service or a trades background is required. An Audio Visual manufacturer’s certification such as Polycom, SMART, or Crestron would be an asset.
This along with the ability to manage paperwork and record-keeping, manage multiple urgent requests and rapidly changing priorities, superior communication skills: strong writing and verbal skills, taking the lead on conversations, ensuring clarity and understanding and minimizing gaps of knowledge and/or information at all levels, along with proficiency with MS Office Suite applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) is required.
You must be able to lift “heavy” items, up to 50 lbs or more, have a valid class 5 operators license (3 or less demerits deducted maximum, verified with Driver’s extract), ownership of a vehicle for local travel, are bondable and able to travel out of town you may be a candidate for this position.
