Food Service Supervisor (Bow Valley College )

Position: Food Service Supervisor
Location: Bow Valley College-Calgary, Alberta
Overview: Bow Valley College is a leader in health and business career training, adult upgrading and English as a Second Language.
Wage: $15.00 per hour
Hours: Flexible-interchanged between 6:00am-2:00pm and 9:00am-4:00pm
Duties:
The food and beverage supervisor will work closely with the manager to ensure that day to day tasks are being preformed to company standards and regulations. The supervisor will assist cashiers during break periods as well as peak hours. The successful candidate will be responsible for training new and existing policies with the assistance of the manager. The successful candidate must be able to work in a fast paced environment, organized and be able to anticipate day to day activities in regards to demands of the business.
• Responsible for leading a team through service of an event or lunch service.
• Cash and inventory
• Must be able to perform all duties of service staff, if required.
• Must be aware of work area & be willing to help keep all areas workable in accordance with health & safety guidelines.
• Must participate in the recruitment, selection, and training of staff
• Resolve customer complaints, as well as internal conflict amongst staff
Required Qualifications (please only apply if you meet all required qualifications):
• A secondary school diploma is required
• At least 3 years experience within the hospitality industry, fine dining preferred.

• Must be fluent in English, have good communication skills, and be attentive to details.
• Basic computer knowledge an asset.
• Excellent sales skills, including promoting Compass Group
• Excellent customer service skills
• Leadership skills
• Proven human resource management skills such as training, motivation,
• Excellent organizational skills
• Must be clean, organized, efficient, flexible, and have knowledge of restaurant service experience.
• Confident with speaking to Guests, adapting service schedules with requests and ensure customer satisfaction.
• Knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations
• The position will ensure the unit has strict compliance of the Compass Quality Assurance and Health and Safety Program, Occupational Health and Safety Act and WHMIS regulations
Assets:
• Culinary experience an asset
• Completion of a food service administration, hotel or restaurant management course is an asset
• Restaurant management experience an asset, but not required.
