QA Engineer (Calgary)

Responsibilities:
• Design, develop, maintain and execute automated testing scripts.
• Understand product functionality, data content, and system architecture of the product being tested.
• Understand the customer and how the product will be used by that customer.
• Understand product software development and working within the release cycle and meet the set deadlines.
• Design and write test cases and test procedures for a wide variety of tests including functional, automated, performance, and regression.
• Execute test cases and test procedures within an established testing window.
• Track and manage defects.
• Report on testing status and results.
• Understanding new technology and testing methods and being able to integrate those to benefit the team and our projects
• Become the team liaison between the local development team and the QA team in multiple global locations.
Qualifications:
• BS/BA or equivalent work experience.
• Programming and scripting skills are mandatory. (VBScript, C#)
• Knowledge of Windows OS including Windows batch scripting.
• Good written & oral communication skills are mandatory.
• Experience working in a team environment.
• Self-Sufficient, experience working with limited direct supervision, demonstrates good time management, organizational, and communication skills.
• Experience with establishing and utilizing external/internal resources to aid in accomplishing team goals.
• Desire to share information and train others is essential.
