The company’s flagship product is a modern, web-based solution deployed in companies of all sizes, from two of the world's largest retailers to local and regional land developers across Canada, the United States and Mexico. Their clients use the software to manage their design, construction and remodeling projects from start to finish, to standardize their business processes, streamline communications and bring dispersed project teams together, realize substantial cost savings, and ensure faster project delivery. In addition, our Client’s product is the only software solution that supports the “greening” of construction, by giving retailers and developers tools to manage their sustainability initiatives and ensure compliance with key environmental regulations. Our Client’s software is currently trusted by over 23,000 users to manage over $12 Billion US in construction projects and 6.1 million documents.
Our Client’s software is built on the Microsoft .NET 3.5 web architecture using C# and AJAX integrated with a SQL Server 2008 database. Our Clients' systems run on a fully virtualized VM Ware ESX cluster utilizing Calgary’s only Blue Arc NAS.
We are currently seeking a confident and experienced Quality Assurance Analyst to join our engaged team.
Role description
• The detail oriented Quality Assurance Analyst brings knowledge of software QA methodologies, practices and processes, as well as a strong desire to advance their knowledge and experience in these areas
• The Quality Assurance Analyst has the ability to quickly expose problems in software implementations and to communicate effectively with the development team
Responsibilities
• Plan, execute and follow-up on test activities and related tasks
• Assist in the definition and implementation of quality standards, processes, and quality improvement programs
• Work effectively within an aggressive release schedule in a fast paced dynamic environment
• Contribute to key initiatives in QA, Load Testing, Test Automation and Performance improvements
• Communicate effectively with the development team
Required experience/skills
• BSc. In Computer Science, IT, Engineering or related technical discipline, or a suitable combination of relevant education and experience
• Experience in software engineering, software testing, QA, performance and implementing automation tools, Devtrack/Devtest and TFS 2008
• Experience in software testing of n-tier web applications on a .Net platform a major plus
• Knowledge of standard web technologies, including app servers, web servers, relational databases, browsers, etc.
• Strong work ethic & professionalism
• Demonstrated ability to implement strategies and achieve goals
• Excellent communication (verbal and written), organizational and interpersonal skills
• Strong passion for quality
• Work well under pressure and while meeting deadlines
