Production Artist - 6 to 8 month Contract (144 East 7th Ave)

Job Function:
The person in this position must have experience using Illustrator in a production environment.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Prepare client artwork for print production.
Set-up and drop artwork into prepared style pattern templates.
Have artwork verified by the QC Supervisor.
Set up and provide client proofs of custom orders to the Sales team in a timely manner.
Apply client revisions to proofs.
Prepare template files for output, check color, logo construction, investigate trapping issues, dot gain, etc.
Work closely with Art Department supervisor to effectively schedule orders through Job Prep, Proofing and Film/digital output teams.
Update orders in JD Edwards as needed.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Academic training in the graphic design/cmmercial art field.
Over 2 years experience in the field of print production.
Must be skilled in Adobe Illustrator's advanced capabilities such as clipping masks, compound path, manual trapping, pattern tiles, gradient fills, blends, offset paths, etc.
Highly skilled in Adobe Illustrator's precision tools and functions for building printable vector artwork.
Strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills
Detail orientated
Problem Solver
Self Motivated and deadline driven.
Positive and energetic attitude
Physical Demands:
The person in this position will be required to work in a fast-paced office setting with frequent interruptions and with the need to deal with a great diversity of people. Work hours are standard. Regular attendance is required.
