Parts Manager (Job# 130) (High River, AB)

The successful candidate will be responsible to efficiently manage and direct all aspects of the Parts Department operations, in partnership with the corporate parts manager, in an up-beat customer-focused manner. Coordinate activities and cooperate with other departments of the dealership group to best serve the parts needs of the customer. You will have previous parts experience, preferably within a farm, construction or power equipment dealership. Previous experience using a computer parts program (similar to DIS) and knowledge of critical parts codes is also required, but not mandatory. Seasonal overtime will be required during planting, haying and harvesting. Industry specific training will be provided.
Basic responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
o Sell parts, labor and wholegoods service 100% of the time
o Ensuring that customer requests / orders are handled very quickly and accurately
o Maintaining inventory levels and targets, while maximizing the highest possible turn ratios
o Assessing management reports to take advantage of opportunities or to develop solutions
o Involvement and participation in advertising and marketing programs
o Supervising parts counter person and seasonal staff
o Establishing and maintaining co-ordination of parts flow between service department
o Maintaining effective reporting and creating efficient administration processes
o Advises customer on substitution or modification of part when replacement is not available.
o Ascertains make, year, and type of part needed, inspects worn, damaged, or defective part to determine replacement required, or advises customer of part(s) required.
COMPENSATION: Base salary will depend on ‘fit’ and qualifications for the position. Full benefit and RRSP plan. Additional departmental sales incentives and profit sharing will be available based on various targets and budget achievements.
