Catering Operations: Assistant Manager

Your Contribution:
As the Assistant Manager of catering operations with Sodexo at Mount Royal University, you will be working with the Director in ensuring service excellence in all aspects of our catering area. You will be responsible for successfully leading our catering team on a daily basis in efficient implementation of all food and beverage service for client meetings, conferences and other special events. Our goal in Sodexo Catering is to achieve the highest possible client and customer satisfaction levels while working within a challenging, fast paced, team-focused environment.
Job Description:
• Liaising with Catering Director to align event planning with Sodexo communication objectives and vision
• Supervising and supporting catering staff to ensure the prompt and accuracy of all orders
• Coordinating and providing food and beverage services in a prompt, customer focused fashion
• Supervising daily setups and clearing of catering services
• Ensuring strict compliance with Sodexo’s Health and Safety regulations
Job Requirements:
• Minimum of 1-2 years experience in a supervisory role, preferably in Catering Services
• Hotel & Restaurant Management Diploma an asset
• Strong leadership and team building skills
• Effective oral and written communication skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work with diverse team
• ProServe/ASIP Certified, an asset
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while meeting established goals and deadlines
• Ability to work flexible shifts
• Ability to motivate staff, act as team player, and lead by example
Wages: $2900-$3200/month plus benefits upon completion of probationary period.
