LEGAL ASSISTANT – Resource Team
Our Client, one of Canada’s largest law firms, is seeking a Legal Assistant to work in our Resource Team.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Transcribe and type legal documents
• Organize and expedite flow of work
• Route or answer correspondence
• Communicate with clients
• Schedule meetings
• Perform clerical, administrative and general office duties
• Perform administrative duties with respect to accounting, opening and closing files, docketing, billing, etc.
• Assistant other Assistants and Lawyers during slower periods
• Other duties as assigned
SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS:
• Legal Assistant Diploma preferred
• Legal experience and knowledge of law firm practices and procedures preferred
• Proficiency in MS Office
• Ability to communicate in a professional manner with clients and lawyers
• Strong organizational skills and time management skills
• Detail-oriented individual with good proofreading skills
• Excellent multi-tasking skills
• A team player, proactive and willing to pitch-in, with excellent interpersonal skills
• Independent worker, able to follow instructions with minimal supervision
• Motivated to excel and open to working outside area of expertise, with a willingness to learn new skills
• Able to set own priorities while maintaining flexibility
