The Candidate
We are looking for a motivated and self starter with exceptional organizational skills and experience managing the accounting department for a small to medium sized company. This individual will enjoy working in the challenging technology sector, where accounting policies and norms are still emerging due to complex business models.
The Role
As accounting manager you will contribute to the company’s success by providing senior management with up to date information on financial statements and cash flow. The accounting manager is an integral part of the management team, enabling business decisions. This position jointly reports to the EVP Operations/CEO, and is supported by one part time Clerk.
Major Responsibilities:
o Accounting:
? Continually enhance accounting systems to match business processes
? Manage cash flows
? Prepare Weekly, Monthly, Yearly Financial Systems
? Manage Payroll
o Benefits Administration:
? Administration of employee benefits plan
? Administration and wrap up of Alberta Health care premiums payment program
o Other Accountabilities
? Administering onboard and exit processes for all employees
? Support company financing activities
? Participate in strategic management of company with leadership team

• Demonstrates high energy/activity levels
• Goal oriented to achieve targets through self-motivation, persistence & determination
• Drive for business results and continuous learning
• The ability to multi task

Qualifications
o Demonstrated organization, planning and communication skills
o Demonstrated systems literacy skills
? In depth knowledge of QuickBooks
? Working knowledge of MS Office Applications
o Detail oriented
o Superb interpersonal skills
o Good oral/written communication skills
o Strong listening skills
Education/Experience
• Business/ Accounting degree, diploma or equivalent experience required
• Accounting designation an asset
• Office management experience an asset
• 3+ years working in an office environment preferred
