Donation Center Attendant (Calgary, AB (SE))

20 hours per week (weekdays, Saturday)

Characteristics of the Work:
This position involves a high degree of interaction with the general public. The attendant assists all donors with their drop offs, unloads vehicles and transports materials into the donation center. Maintain a neat, clean and orderly interior and exterior donation site. Assists with administrative support for Go Green programs.
Chief Responsibilities:
Ø Opens and prepares ADC (Attended Donation Center) for workday; closes & secures at end of shift.
Ø Greet public in cheerful, professional manner.
Ø Always thank donor for donation.
Ø Makes decisions about quality of donations and accepts or declines donations with appropriate communication to donor.
Ø Transports goods by hand and/or cart, boxes or other material handling equipment. Performs moderately strenuous work while loading and unloading all types of household goods from donors vehicles and CPAA trucks.
Ø Assists truck drivers when loading donations from site.
Ø Checks in with Supervisor on a daily basis for work requirement.
Ø Communicates supply/Center needs to Supervisor.
Ø Keep Supervisor informed of any problems or difficulties related to the job.
Ø Maintains confidentiality of all CPAA documents and information.
Ø Maintains a clean, safe working environment for self, co-workers and public and follows established safety standards.
Ø Ensure compliance with all CPAA policies and safety and security regulations.
Ø Other duties as assigned.
Administrative Support:
Ø Assists with customer service inquiries for recycling programs.
Ø Assists with follow up calls to existing beverage container recycling locations
Ø Responsibility of maintaining brochure wall, make required calls to agencies for brochures in a timely manner.
Qualifications:
Ø Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Ø Must demonstrate and exercise high standards in honesty and integrity.
Ø Ability to work as part of a team and accept direction
Ø Must be able to work a flexible work schedule.
Ø Must be able to maintain reports e.g. donor count and others as required.
