Graphic Designer/Web Designer Calgary Academy

Calgary Academy’s Digital Media Centre is offering a unique opportunity for a talented and creative web/graphic designer with an interest in working in a dynamic educational environment, primarily in graphics/web design, but who is also interested in team teaching two multimedia classes at the high school level.
Major DMC responsibilities include:
• Designing and creating all brochures, posters and other
educational materials for the school and its consulting arm.
• Updating the Calgary Academy website and creating new web
pages as required
• Developing and implementing web solutions and/or
improvements for teachers and students and for our outside
consulting.
• Working with teachers to develop online e-learning activities
• These responsibilities will involve approximately 75% of your
time.
Teaching responsibilities include:
• Teaching Flash, Photoshop, Illustrator, Premier, and web
development skills in a well-supported multimedia lab to
students in high school options at Calgary Academy. (With a
certified teacher to assist)
• These responsibilities will involve approximately 25% of your
time.
Skills
• able to work in a multi-tasking and collaborative team
environment and work closely with project management on
simultaneous projects.
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Excellent visual literacy
• Experience editing content based upon in-house criteria
• Reliable, attention to detail
• Minimum two years of college or related experience
• Strong time management skills (take initiative, multi-task, and
prioritize)
• Demonstrated ability to meet project-based deadlines
• Experience with the Adobe creative suite (Photoshop,
Illustrator and Flash, Premier)
• Experience with HTML, MySQL, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, FTP
and Website Administration
