Position Summary:
The Paid Kettle Attendant is a short term, on-call position with The Salvation Army’s 2010 Christmas Kettle Campaign. This position is responsible for supervising Christmas Kettles at various locations in and around Calgary, including grocery stores and shopping centres.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Supervise the Kettle at a predetermined public location.
• Greet passersby, hand out candy canes and thank donors.
• Provide information and answer questions about The Salvation Army.
Qualifications:
• You have a friendly, flexible and easy-going personality.
• Comfortable speaking with members of the community.
• Support the mission of The Salvation Army in demeanor, word and deed.
Terms of Employment:
• The Christmas Kettle Campaign runs November 18 to Dec 24th, Monday thru Saturday in the mornings, afternoons and evenings.
• Must be able to work on-call during the Campaign when there is no volunteer available. This means you may be called a few days, or even a few hours, before an available shift.
• Kettle Attendants on average can expect to work about 10 shifts per season.
Dress and Decorum
• Professional attire at all times.
• Loyalties to The Salvation Army in demeanor, word and deed.
