Purpose
The purpose of this role is to provide Recruitment and Staffing services to the Calgary Board of Education (CBE). This is done by recruiting candidates externally as well as by internal placement of candidates. Due to the CBE collective agreement, a large portion of this role entails placing internal candidates into positions as they have entitlement to fill positions before external candidates are considered. This is a role that has a high volume of full life cycle recruitment functions. Supportive behaviour and relationship building with key stakeholders will provide for an excellent customer experience.
Job Accountabilities/Responsibilities
To recruit top candidates in the most effective and efficient way possible.
Monitor and track activities in line with Statements of Work and according Service Levels.
To accomplish full hiring cycle including resume screening, setting up candidate testing, interviewing, reference checks, offer letter generation, internal staffing placements, advertising, selection of candidates, providing advice to employees and candidates, etc.
Communicate, advise, consult, update and interact with hiring managers and principals regarding open positions and strategies for sourcing.
To be well versed in CBE collective agreements, guidelines and best practice to ensure full compliance.
Mentor and support other Recruitment Consultants and Jr. Recruiters on the team
Pro-actively identify improvement opportunities through influence and teamwork.
Qualifications
Experience
7 to 10 years working experience in an HR or Recruitment capacity
A minimum of 4 years experience working in a multi-union environment
Previous experience with process improvement and facilitating the resulting business aspects
Degree in a related field
Certification as an HR Professional (CHRP) an asset
Skills and Competencies
Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of integrated information systems such as HRIS and applicant tracking
Demonstrated ability to analyse and report on recruitment metrics
Demonstrated ability to document current state processes and future state process flows
Intermediate to advanced competency levels within: MS Outlook, MS Excel, MS Word and MS Powerpoint
Demonstrated ability to effectively present/communicate in front of team members and small client groups
