Technical Project Lead – Sitecore
The technical project lead serves as the representative of the non~linear technical project team (developers). The technical project lead works with non~linear project management and account management staff to gather requirements, manage the client and facilitate the timely and on-budget delivery of a technical solution to the client. When not engaged in project work the technical project lead is expected to participate in internal process improvement, particularly as it relates to effort estimation, development efficiencies and knowledge capture and assist in sales efforts.
Specific tasks & duties:
1. Meeting with Clients to gather and understand requirements
2. Capturing requirements in a formal written plan. The format of that plan may take different forms and may need to conform to standards defined by the Client.
3. Providing a solution document that translates requirements into the blueprint needed for the development team to successfully implement the solution.
4. Providing effort estimates for development.
5. Assisting project managers in developing timelines and in particular looking for opportunities to accelerate the project without incurring undo risk.
6. Development of a work-plan for development staff and management of tasks to completion. Projects of sufficient size will also include a lead developer to assist in this task.
7. Weekly (or as needed) check-in meetings with the development team on progress, ensuring adherence to scope and requirements.
8. Assisting Quality Assurance staff in the development of test plans and test cases.
9. Facilitating the Client’s review of the tested solution.
10. Updates to templates (such as timelines, solution descriptions) and the capture and dissemination of lessons learned
About the successful candidate
The successful candidate will have a degree in Computer Science or Engineering or equivalent work experience. The position requires a strong working knowledge of web development and ASP.NET. Experience with other content management platforms such as Sitecore is an asset. Qualifications include hands-on experience in the analysis, design, development, deployment and operations of complex architectures and solutions using Microsoft tools and technologies. Advanced technical selling and customer management skills are a requirement.
