Coordinator, Outdoor Education (Bragg Creek)

Located 40 km west of Calgary in the beautiful foothills of Kananaskis Country, Easter Seals Camp Horizon is southern Alberta's leading residential camp facility for people with disabilities and serious illnesses. Each year over 1,600 children and adults with special needs enjoy our outdoor recreational programming.
The Coordinator, Outdoor Education will successfully manage the programming priorities at Easter Seals Camp Horizon with the primary focus of creating, implementing and marketing the Outdoor Education programs for the September -- May rental groups. He/she will also assist with the execution of the summer camp program, specifically in the developing and marketing of the Leadership Program, managing and leading adventure programming (i.e. High ropes/ giant swing climbing wall etc).
He/she will have a Bachelors' Degree or College Diploma in a related field. Experience in outdoor recreation, program planning, supervision, communications and strong leadership and interpersonal skills are required. Knowledge of requirements of persons with disabilities and serious illnesses is necessary. A minimum of 5 years of related experience is desired.
Qualifications:
Degree in Therapeutic Recreation, Recreation or related field.
Strong verbal and written communications; comfortable with public speaking. Very strong administrative skills (proficiency with Microsoft word, publisher, excel)
Passion for the outdoors and working with people.
Proven Supervisory skills, strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
Program planning and operations experience.
Standard first aid, Class Four Driver's License, not required but preferred.
Challenge Course experience, National Lifeguard Service, Wilderness First Aid all assets
Knowledge of working with persons with a disability and serious illness.
