Senior Analyst
A Calgary company is looking to fill the position of Senior Analyst for a project that will gather the current state of the Oracle footprint within Calgary, and current product and technology strategies.
Job Requirements:
• Eight to ten years of experience in developing license strategies in large or public organizations.
• Over five years of experience in developing strategic direction by working with multiple levels of management.
• Must have in-depth licensing knowledge of mainstream software products, technical knowledge of hardware and software products.
• Over five years of experience and knowledge of products within the productivity, server, unified communications and network technology space.
• Over five years of experience in negotiation with software vendors.
• Over three years of experience developing cost models.
• Strong awareness in software and technology industry trends.
• Excellent facilitation experience.
• Excellent ability to present to different levels of management.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Bachelor degree in computer science, business, commerce, engineering or equivalent.
Job Duties:
• Document the inventory of Oracle licenses and share understanding of licensing costs drivers.
• Document current and planned business requirements for Oracle products.
• Develop and document overall strategy for use of Oracle products and contribution to reduced IT operating costs.
• Develop and document product strategies (and option assessments) for each Oracle product/platforms.
• Develop and document licensing strategies and license cost estimation model(s).
• Perform a financial analysis of costs and options.
• Define roadmap activities to support strategies.
• Develop and document negotiation points for input to the Oracle licensing negotiations (start Oct 2011).
• Provide support for the negotiating team.
• Develop and document presentation and communicate findings and recommendations.
• Update all related Architecture and Solution building blocks in the Enterprise Architecture repository.
This contract runs for three months with the possibility of an extension.
