Company and Position Description
Our Alberta based client is seeking a System/Network Administrator for their Calgary location. This individual will specialize in repair, configuration and maintenance of networks, servers, computers, and related technologies. This is a highly sought after place to work with an extremely supportive staff, exceptionally low turnover and excellent benefits package.
Specifically your responsibilities will include:
· Analyze and make recommendations on infrastructure such as networks, servers, databases, network security, and data communications.
· Operating system and software installation and configurations.
· Support and maintain Windows servers and PC's.
· Support and maintain LAN/WAN networks.
· Test and optimize server and network performance.
· Set-up, configure and monitor hardware.
· Provide end user desktop support.
Candidate Requirements
The ideal candidate will possess the following education, knowledge and technical qualification:
· College diploma or university degree in the field of computer technology and 3 years IT work experience.
· Knowledge of Windows networks.
· Proven ability to accurately trouble shoot and repair.
· Experience with Windows Server 2003/2008, MS Exchange, VMware, Citrix, and storage environments.
· Understanding of network security.
· MCSE is considered an asset.
· CCNA is considered an asset.
· A+ is considered an asset.
· Valid AB drivers' license and clean driving abstract.
The successful candidate will require excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills. They will also require superior analytical and problem solving skills and have the ability to work in a fast paced environment.
