Our Client is a global leader in the mobile local advertising space. Their location based search application is an award-winning, all-in-one, free application that connects consumers to businesses, movies, restaurants, events, people and retailers, whenever and wherever needed. Its unique approach to local search moves beyond discovery of local businesses by allowing users to interact with that business or service whether that's placing a call, mapping directions, viewing showtimes and movie trailers, buying movie tickets or reserving a table. The app is available on BlackBerry smartphones, iPhone and iPod Touch, Android devices, Windows Phone 7 and Nokia handsets in Canada, the United States, Europe and Australia.
Key Responsibilities:
• Guided by the VP, Marketing & PR, prepare annual marketing plan/budget and execute strategies and tactics accordingly
• Providing project management and coordination for marketing/communication plans including providing creative input, writing/editing and driving the approval process from inception to execution
• Overseeing internal and external print production as well as sourcing vendors for print requirements and promotional items
• Ensuring that Our Client's brand integrity and image is appropriately aligned with marketing strategies in order to support business objectives
• Work with our partners to create and approve marketing opportunities
• Develop short and long-term marketing strategies aimed at acquiring new users and retaining existing users
• Plan and execute appropriate advertising campaigns, promotional activities and public relations programs
• Create and execute stand-out marketing programs that maximize impact beyond dollars spent
• Global tradeshow participation and special event attendance as required
Management:
• Work co-operatively with other management staff and provide leadership and direction to marketing team
• Foster positive consumer and team relationships
• Keep current on market area changes, consumer and business trends as well as industry and competitive activities
• Keep management staff and internal stakeholders informed of advertising schedules, events, etc.
• Plan and execute special projects as required
• Assist Marketing & PR executive team with day to day duties as required
Qualifications:
• Related University Degree in Marketing
• 3-5 years of marketing or related experience
• Not afraid to roll up your sleeves to get things done
• Knowledge of mobile marketing industry an asset
• Relationship Skills - Superior oral and written communication and presentation skills; ability to develop and sustain cooperative working relationships at all levels; ability to exercise confidentiality
• Organizational/Multi-Task Skills - Ability to allocate one's time effectively, work under pressure and manage tight deadlines; ability to handle multiple demands and competing priorities, and adapt to new ideas and constant changes
• Computer Skills - Strong skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint
• Experience working in a public company would be an asset
