Enterprise Modeling Specialist
Although the enterprise architecture community is improving, to successfully manage large cross-function initatives, a more sophisticated supporting tool base is required. An Enterprise Modeling Sysem will enable the documentation, sharting, and reuse of business, information, application, technical and security artifacts, which will drive the holistic management ob business solutions towards optimal business benefit. As a Enterprise Modeling Specialist, you will create an enterprise modeling suite that can be used by various IT and business staff to create one or more models to describe the company's enterprise.
This contract position is in Calgary, Alberta and will run until March 30, 2012. Applicants must meet the following requirements:
Required Skills:
• A minimum of 10-15 years of extensive practical EA experience across the four architecture domains: Business, Application, Information, and Technology;
• Extensive demonstrated knowledge of EA disciplines;
• Solid experience and understanding of enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g. TOGAF, Zachman, Gartner, others);
• Hands on ability to create integrated sets of architecture models and roadmaps using a variety of personal productivity, as well as EA tools;
• Proficient with more than one architecture tools (Visio, System Architect, ARIS, IBM Rational Software, Troux, Sparxs Enterprise Architect, etc);
• Demonstrated experience working with various modeling languages and standards including Archimate, BPMN, UML, IDEF0/IDEF1x/IDEF3;
• Experience with various frameworks and industrial reference models (e.g. ITIL, Open Group, Architecture patterns, others);
• Demonstrated experience working with business management in creating EA artifacts;
• Track record of identifying opportunities to realize business benefits through EA guidance;
• Demonstrated leadership, facilitation and communications skills in both a business and an IT environments;
• Proficient with demonstrated experience in Architecture views/viewpoints;
• Experience interpreting and verifying complex business requirements;
• Experience with service-oriented architecture design and implementation principles;
• Extensive experience in solution design and modelling;
• Strong background in Information and data management principles and processes;
• Extensive demonstrated knowledge in analyzing business domain using business service, process and function modeling;
• Knowledgeable in Application development principles and processes;
• Knowledgeable in IT infrastructure;
• Knowledgeable in change management regarding systems;
• Knowledgeable in user-centric application development methodologies;
• Extensive experience in migration planning;
• Knowledgeable of IT industry standards;
• Strong understanding in IT security practices and technologies;
• Excellent inter-personal skills and ability to work in a collaborative team environment;
• Excellent oral, written and presentation skills.
Qualifications:
• The successful applicant will possess a degree (equivalent to 3-4 years full-time study), in Computing Science, Engineering, Commerce or a related field, and a minimum of ten years of progressive experience in Information Technology. A relevant technical diploma (equivalent to 2-3 years full-time study), with a minimum of 12 years experience as above will also be considered;
• The candidate should have proven leadership skills, superior influencing skills, and an ability to drive consensus towards a shared common architectural vision / objective;
• The ability to think strategically in a technical environment will need to be coupled with strong teamwork, interpersonal and communication (oral and written) skills; and
• The candidate may be required to present and explain complex technical concepts to audiences of varying technical ability. Experience in project management, complex and conceptual analysis and consulting would be considered an asset.
