HR Generalist
Job Posting Lehigh Materials is a division of Lehigh Hanson Materials Limited, one of the largest suppliers of heavy building materials to the construction industry in North America. Our companies produce a broad range of building materials, including cement, aggregates, ready mixed and precast concrete, asphalt, concrete pipes, pavers, tiles and clay bricks.
Lehigh Hanson is part of the HeidelbergCement Group, the global market leader in aggregates and a prominent player in cement, concrete and other downstream activities. HeidelbergCement Group employs some 57,000 people at 2,600 locations in around 40 countries.
This position is responsible for the provision of human resources generalist support to the Prairie sub-region, serving the Aggregates, Cement, Concrete and Pipe business units. Travel through out the sub-region will be required, approximately 15 - 20% of time.
Responsibilities:
Provide human resources generalist services including compensation, benefits, employee relations, performance management, training and development and relocation support
Lead recruitment to meet staffing requirements at all levels
Advise and counsel management in the areas of Company policy, provincial Employment Standards, Human Rights, and related legislation
Counsel internal customers on work related issues at all levels
Coordinate and administer salaried transactional matters with the Shared Services Centre
Support labour relations function
Skills and Qualifications
Bachelor's degree with a Human Resources focus or equivalent post-secondary in combination with HR work experience
Several years experience in a generalist human resources role
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively within all organizational levels
Knowledge of provincial labour and employment statutes
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Proficiency with a HRIS environment, preferably JDE
Experience in a manufacturing or construction materials environment is an asset
CHRP designation is an asset
Ability and willingness to travel, as required
