Our client is currently in need of an Intermediate Desktop Technician to join their team of IT Professionals in their Calgary office. This is a contract role with an anticipated minimum duration of 3 months.

The primarily responsible for the successful candidate will be to provide technical support to the desktop environment for our client. To schedule and coordinate Desktop PC upgrades with our client's employees. Ensure that the appropriate technical procedures are developed for testing, implementing, operation and support of the desktop fleet is maintained. Provide support for required hardware and related peripherals that resolve problems through established processes.
Specific Accountabilities:
- Participate in the deployment of our client's PC refresh cycle.
- Coordinate and schedule upgrades with the Client.
- Migration of user data settings to new device.
- Complete validation & function test as agreed to by our client's employees.
- Collecting PC/Devices from Employees.
- Secure data wiping returned assets (desktops, notebook).
- Prepare retired assets for disposal.
- Participate in first and second level support to our client's client community maintaining support of all MDT's and related peripherals.
- Proactively determines opportunities for the use of Information Technologies to meet clients' mobile needs that support corporate goals and objectives.
- Adherence to project timelines and budget restrictions.
- As required install new applications, service releases and upgrades as per business needs. Performs tasks associated with projects.
- Provide the various client groups with technical information on development plans or project assistance and create problem and status reports.
- Configure and maintain mobile computing images. Establish deployment/rollback scripts, then deploy as required.
