Our client is looking for Senior Technology Specialist - Cisco
Position Overview:
The Senior Technology Specialist will provide technical support for Customer Premise Solutions including VoIP, unified messaging, contact center and emerging technologies. You will work within a high performance culture and require a proven ability to analyze, diagnose and resolve hardware and software problems. You possess excellent interpersonal and customer skills and must hold a valid BC drivers license
Responsibilities:
A Senior Technology Specialist will isolate failures between different manufacturer's products while working with personnel, business partners, contractors and customers through to problem resolution. You will engage manufactures technical support center as required and remain engaged throughout the entire problem resolution process. You will also participate in vender field/beta trials, new product introduction evaluation and lab standardization projects as required.
A Senior Technology Specialist will document post incident reviews and root cause analysis reports for major problems as well as participating in conference calls and customer meetings as necessary.
A Senior Technology Specialist will be required to establish and maintain a good working relationship with other internal departments
You will be required to achieve and maintain vendor certifications.
Slifework/stand by scheduling (24 x 7) and travel will be required.
Required Knowledge:
Good working knowledge of computer operating systems and software. Must be proficient in the installation and maintenance of Cisco Unified Communication Equipment and Cisco Networks with Voice Gateways and Gatekeepers. Must be able to troubleshoot equipment including Call Managers & Call Manager Express, Unity, IPCC, and SRST & Gateways. Knowledge on Meeting Place Express, Mobility Manager are an asset.
Required Skills & Abilities:
Excellent strategic and problem solving skills with exceptional troubleshooting and analytical thinking skills. Must be able to adapt quickly, handle a steep learning curve and maintain a high level of performance during stressful situations. Must be able to work well within a team environment and be capable of mentoring and providing formal training as required.
Required Professional Designation/Certification:
CCNA is a minimum requirement. CCNP, CCVP, CCIE or Microsoft certifications would be an asset.
Required Experience:
Minimum two years experience in a related field providing support, designing, installing or maintaining manufacturer's equipment.
