Rocky Mountain Computer Repair Job Description
Position: In-house Repair Technician
Hours: Part time
We are looking for a part time employee for approximately 18-26 hours a week. You would be given the choice to work 2-3 full days 10:15am -- 6:15pm or 1pm-6:15pm 4-5 days a week. If there is enough computers in the shop you will be given the option to work additional hours, and this job does have the potential to turn into a full time position.
Applicant should have experience in IT / computer repair in addition to customer service or retail experience. While the technical skills are very important, the soft skills are even more valued. Customer service is huge at our company so we need a technician that can talk with people and make them customers for life. Organization skills and attention to detail are also very important; a RMCR Tech is expected to take very detailed notes and log every call or customer interaction into our CRM database. This can be time consuming and sometimes tedious however it makes our business run smoothly and ensures all our customers are properly looked after.

Rocky Mountain Computer Repair is a small yet awesome computer repair shop SE Calgary. We sell laptops and custom built desktops as well as do a huge amount of service work. Most of our customers come in looking for virus removal, tune-ups, and upgrades. We not only fix the problem but we go the extra mile -- in fact 95% of our customers give us repeat business!
We are located in the Glenmore Circle Shopping Center at the intersection of Glenmore Trail & Barlow Trail SE bordering the Foothills Industrial Park, approximately 5 min east of Deerfoot Meadows, and 10 min east of Chinook Centre. The #23 bus is close by and only a short ride to the LRT, and there is plenty of free parking.
As a Rocky Mountain Computer Technician you will be responsible for:
• Providing an outstanding customer experience
• Working with the owner as well as independently to meet and exceed personal technical goals and company repair + sales targets
• Ensuring our clients receive exceptional after-sales service
• Diagnosing, trouble-shooting and repairing desktop and laptop systems
• Being up to date on the latest viruses, and technology trends
• Completing all required paperwork, case notes, tests, and maintenance reports
• Prepare cost estimates
• Prepare invoices
• Answer phones + email
Requirements:
• 1+ years in a similar roll with retail customer service experience
• A+ Certification a bonus
• Experience with virus removal, networking, system setup, and basic computer repair
• Ability to develop rapport with clients and maintain strong working relationships
• Commitment to client satisfaction
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment
• Ability to determine client needs and sell to them
• Self-confidence with ability to lead by example and be independent
• Excellent interpersonal skills
