Vice President, Finance (Calgary)

Our client, an industry leader, is currently seeking a Vice President, Finance for their growing Calgary team. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, you will be responsible for the following:
-Assist in setting the strategic direction of the Company and the Accounting Department
-Performing corporate risk analysis on strategic initiatives and alternatives
-Managing cash flow, forecasting, and projections for the company
-Reporting on results
-Developing and managing relationships with the financial sector, including managing current operating lines and financings, and coordinating future financing requirements
-Working with executive in establishing selling prices to achieve maximum gross margin and profitability
-Coordinating corporate structuring initiatives
-Recruiting, training, supervising, and evaluating accounting staff and daily Accounting Department operations, in cooperation with the Controller and/or Senior Accountant
-Reviewing and analyzing operational performance reports
-Establishing and implementing departmental goals policies, and operating procedures
-Reviewing monthly sales commissions
-Reviewing monthly financial statements and results against budget and preparing Senior Management reports
-Participating in programs for measuring financial and operating performance
-Reviewing and analyzing monthly and annual cash flow forecasts
-Reviewing and analyzing annual budget and monthly projections
-Assisting in the preparation of cash flow projections for new projects
-Coordinating year-end working papers for annual financial statement review and corporate tax returns
-Ensure compliance and governmental agencies, including GST, activity reports, and partnership returns
-Analyze financing requirements and prepare and present annual financing proposals
-Reviewing and approving all cheque runs
-Overseeing personnel and payroll management
To qualify for the role of Vice President, Finance, you will possess the following:
-CA, CGA, or CMA designation with a minimum of 5 years of senior accounting/financial experience
-Strong Excel spreadsheet skills
-Knowledge and ability to work with financial accounting systems
-Strong organizational skills and a proven ability to work under tight deadlines
-Ability to solve problems and make necessary decisions to move forward the work at hand
-Ability to work within a changing environment and deal effectively with some ambiguity
-Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate persuasively
-Supervisory experience, along with a proven ability to provide necessary information to direct reports to enable them to work efficiently
