Jayine Consulting Inc. is a Canadian owned and operated organization of experienced information technology and business professionals, who provide resources to help clients define develop and implement successful IT solutions through contract and permanent placements.
A major Energy company located in Calgary, Alberta, has asked Jayine Consulting the services of a contractor to work as a Senior Business Analyst in its Business Information Solutions group.
Responsibilities will include:
• Formulating business process models;
• Performing business analyses to define user needs and requirements;
• Documenting and diagramming requirements using RUP tools;
• Formulating database models;
• Collaborating and supporting the development and testing teams to ensure business requirements are correctly implemented;
• Acting as technical liaison between the user and development groups.
Each successful candidate must have recent experience as a Business/Systems Analyst that has used OO techniques and UML, and has been involved in iterative development. Strong people skills in both group and individual contexts, and strong client expectation management skills are essential for this role. In general, key aspects of the roles are to work with business and development personnel to:
• Develop and manage requirements for business solutions;
• Prepare business and database specifications;
• Create use cases, activity diagrams, sequence diagrams, view of participating classes, and state charts;
• Design user interfaces;
• Ensure the correct interpretation of requirements by the development team via design inspections
• Participate in the testing lifecycle;
• Ensure smooth transition into training and deployment phase.
The position will report directly to the Project Manager, Geology Management System.
Proposed Commencement Date: July 8, 2009
Expected End Date: July 7, 2011
Project Description:
The Geology and Reserves Program initiative (GRP) has the mandate to replace the geology and reserves mainframe applications by January 2012 and to provide a consistent set of services for all resource types, consolidating the body of knowledge into a single, accessible, easily correlated source. The successful candidates will have the opportunity to leverage cutting edge technologies and techniques in ways that will offer significant benefits to internal customers whilst also gaining a detailed understanding of aspects of the upstream oil and gas industry from a regulatory perspective.
