LIKE SHOPPING? Heavy Industries (www.heavyworld.com) is looking to hire a full-time purchaser who will be responsible for all production-related buying for our custom fabrication shop.
Heavy is a custom fabricator that creates one-of-a-kind artworks and architectural elements internationally. We're a young and dynamic company that has gone through major changes to create better opportunities for our employees to succeed. As part of the Heavy team, you would have the opportunity to shape your role as you develop your skills.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:
• Source, order, and procure shop supplies and production materials
• Improve the purchasing organizational system
• Maintain communication with Project Managers for all job-specific purchases
• Liaise with the Production Manager for all overhead purchases
• Keep a close eye on budgets, constantly seeking ways to reduce costs
• Develop lasting relationships with suppliers
• Negotiate the best price for significant purchases
• Organize efficient deliveries and pick-ups of supplies
• Research new materials and supply alternatives
• Take our inventory management to the next level
WE'RE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WHO IS:
• Extremely organized
• Familiar with production materials, hardware, and tools
• Personable with an ability to develop lasting supplier relationships
• Able to interpret budgets and plan purchases accordingly
• Computer savvy (Microsoft Suite)
• Able to keep their finger on the pulse of projects and what they'll require
• In possession of a drivers licence with a clean abstract
• Capable of working independently
