Seeking: Wireless Internet Field Technicians in Various locations across Alberta
Scope of Duties:
- Plans Wireless installations by studying design plans, layouts, and technical specifications; and site visits to access line-of-site.
- Establishes wireless system by installing and configuring equipment including voltage and power amplifiers, transmitters, receivers, antennas, service monitors, spectrum analyzers, transmission analyzers and filters; establishing circuits; following industry standards; coordinating with contractors
- Establishes power and communications by connecting equipment to power lines; calibrating equipment
- Verifies wireless system functioning by testing equipment, circuits, connectors and alarms; identifying and correcting problems including faults, interference, signal degradation, frequency limitation, noise, reactance, impedance, phase angle and distortion
- Documents installation by recording specifications and diagrams
- Maintains and improves service by completing preventative maintenance requirements; checking monitors; verifying problems with users; diagnosing, trouble-shooting, and repairing problems using multi-meter, spectrum analyzer, oscilloscope, wattmeter, frequency counter, signal generator, logic probe, and hand tools; replacing and upgrading components; upgrading software; installing program updates; testing back-up; referring to schematics, manuals, and manufacturers’ instructions; updating equipment records
- Maintains safe work environment by following codes, standards and legal regulations
- Performing Line-of-Site visits to new customers to verify that their location can see our hub-sites (roof visits)
- Occasional cabling of devices both inside and outside
- Aligning and testing antennas for customer sign-off
- Service calls to trouble-shoot and fix faulty equipment
Special Skills or Equipment Required:
- Cisco and RF (Radio Frequency) experience
- Computer literate
- Data Cabling experience
- Handy with various tools, must have basic technician hand tools
Compensation:
- $ negotiable based on experience
