Employment Status: Full Time Permanent

Summary
AltaLink is seeking a highly motivated team player with proven PI administrative, programming, analytical and problem solving skills to join the INOIS (Integrated Network Operations & Information Services) department. Reporting to Manager, IS Operations, this position will be responsible for application development and user support within AltaLink's Information Technology environment.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong work ethic and desire to learn new skills along with the ability to adapt quickly to changing expectations and to meet deadlines. You are a self-starter who can work independently, cooperate well as a team member, multi-task, balance and organize multiple priorities and work well under pressure in an extremely fast-paced environment. Strong project coordination skills as well as demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential for success in this position.
Responsibilities
• Designing, analyzing, coding, testing, debugging, maintaining and documenting complex programs considering the capacity and limitations of the equipment, operating time and form of desired results.
• Understand client's requirements and develop applications accordingly.
• Modifying procedures to solve the most complex problems.
• Preparing detailed specifications.
• Analyzing and revising existing system logic.
• Assisting in the formulation and the definition of system scope and objectives.
• Providing sustained support of applications.
• Assisting in the assessment of user enhancement requests.
• Managing, maintaining, upgrading PI Server.
• Managing, maintaining, PI Module Database.
• Managing, maintaining, upgrading PI ACE Calculations.
Qualifications
• Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, or certification, with minimum of five years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• The Application Specialist is proficient in most aspects of computer programming and many computer languages including;
• MS .Net
• MS Visual Basic
• MS SQL Server database connections
• PI SDK knowledge
• PI SMT
• PI ACE
• PI Module Database
• PI UFL
• PI Trust
• PI ESCA HABConnect
• Understanding of Revenue Metering would be an asset
