We are currently recruiting for a Permanent Senior Tax Manager position
Located in Calgary, AB
Salary: Based on Experience
Shift: Dayshift.

Position Summary:
As a tax specialist you will be an integral member of the team that helps our Privately Held Business and Succession & Estate planning (PHB/SEP) clients achieve and sustain success by providing services that include: Domestic, personal and corporate planning and compliance, US personal and corporate planning and compliance, corporate reorganizations, sales and indirect tax, SR&ED, international tax, transfer pricing, expatriate tax, mergers and acquisitions, and estates and trusts.


Job Responsibilities:
• Manage a team that provides exceptional tax plans and solutions to aid our clients in achieving and optimizing tax savings.
• Work closely with clients and their relationship partners to develop appropriate plans or solutions to address their tax needs and achieve their business objectives.
• Behave as a leader in the management and development of our growing tax practice.
• Manage and review complex PHB corporate and personal income tax returns, as well as trust tax returns.
• Identify, develop and pursue new opportunities for assisting clients with initial or add-on tax services.
• Provide exceptional client service.
• Stay attuned and respond to emerging regulatory and market factors that impact our clients.
• Coach and mentor professional staff.
• Prepare and present information to clients, colleagues or other parties for educational or promotional purposes.

Job Qualifications:
• A recognized professional accounting designation (CA, CGA, CMA) or LLB or other appropriate combination of work experience and academic credentials (i.e. masters degree in tax).
• Completion of CICA In-depth levels 1 and 2 Tax courses or commensurate experience.
• At least six years post-designation (or equivalent) experience in public practice. Substantive expertise with the tax-related aspects of succession, trust and estate matters likely (but not necessarily) gained as one element of providing corporate and personal tax planning and compliance services to privately held businesses.
• A demonstrable commitment to providing exceptional client service.
• Ability to develop, present and apply new ideas, creative approaches and innovative solutions.
• Ability to work independently, lead, or work as part of a team.
• Strong commitment to excellence in product quality and attention to detail.
• Skillful at communicating complex material in a manner that makes it understandable and useful to the intended audience.
• Creative problem solver with solid analytical and reasoning skills.
