Intermediate Accountant

The Company:

We are a fast pace full-service Chartered Accountant firm with a young and energetic environment located in the SW area of Calgary. We service owner-managed enterprises as well as large, privately held organizations with global operations. The firm is experiencing continued growth and there would be opportunities for the candidate to grow within the firm as well.

We are hiring for both a Junior and Intermediate Accountant separately. Please specify which position you are applying for.

Job Description:

-Work on files from start to finish including notice to reader financial statements, corporate tax returns, and assurance engagements.
-Have direct contact with the clients to complete files and to assist clients with periodic accounting needs.
-During busy season there will be work in personal tax returns, T5 summaries, T4 summaries, and other tax filings.
-Your duties will include preparing working paper files, drafting financial statements, preparing journal entries, preparing corporate tax returns, and conducting research on technical matters.
-Flexibility to work late hours during busy periods.

Junior accountant specific duties:
-Ongoing bookkeeping for clients using Simply Accounting
-Administrative support for the firm for 25% of your time

The Ideal Candidate:

-Working knowledge of Caseware, Profile, Jazz-It, and Microsoft Office suite.
-Working knowledge of Simply Accounting and QuickBooks.
-New accounting graduates or up to PACE level CGA would be suitable
-Public practice experience preferred but not required
