Position Summary:
Due to continued growth HAZCO Environmental Services is currently looking for a Project Cost Coordinator to join our Calgary, AB team. The Project Cost Coordinator is responsible for all cost tracking, billing, reporting and reconciliation on a set of projects. This position works closely with the Project Manager and Senior Project Accountants to ensure that all billing is accurate to contracts, bids, and MSA's. This role must ensure that invoices are being created and sent in a timely manner and clients are being dealt with quickly and efficiently.
Responsibilities:
• Provide support and analysis on tasks related to producing accurate job set-up, cost/revenue tracking and job completion procedures
• Assist and play an integral part of the month end / forecast process, including profitability analysis and cost and revenue accruals
• Assist and perform job set up functions, including input of Budgets, accurate Cost Code structures, rate tables and ensuring compliance with client contract
• Provide ongoing project status updates to Project Managers and Senior Project Accountants
• Verification of data entry of employee and equipment time
• Verification of all third party costs
• Maintain and review reasonableness of all project committed cost
• Create, maintain and receive purchase orders
• Create client billings per contract and other client requirements
• Create and process Foreman's Reports used in the billing process
• Ensure all back-up has been gathered to support client billings
• Assist Project Manager with client reporting requirements
• Maintain routine project-specific correspondence and documentation
• Faxing, photocopying and performing other administrative responsibilities as required
Qualifications:
Technical:
• 1-2 years relevant work experience in project accounting, within a construction environment is required
• Business Diploma (major in Accounting) or other relevant post secondary training in accounting is required
• Strong computer skills are a necessity (Excel, Word)
• Previous experience with Oncore, Explorer and Oracle People Soft is preferred
• Experience in a construction environment
• Fundamental understanding of labor standards
Interpersonal:
• Self-motivated and detail oriented with ability to adhere to deadlines
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Results oriented
• Focus on customer service
• Attention to detail, accuracy, and good follow up skills are a must
• Strong organizational skills
