Ethnic food cook (East Indian cuisine) (NE Calgary)

Experience: 5 years or more
Languages: Speak and read English
Setting: Formal dining room
Cuisine: Thai, East Indian, African
Food preparation specializations: Stocks, soups and sauces; vegetables, fruits, nuts, and mushrooms; hors d'oeuvres; meat, poultry, fish, and seafood
Specific skills: Prepare and cook full course meals and individual dishes for dinners, banquets, buffets; train staff in preparation, cooking and handling of food; order supplies and equipment; supervise kitchen staff and helpers; maintain inventory and records of food, supplies, and equipment; work with specialized cooking equipment (deep fryer, etc.); clean kitchen and work areas; wash dishes; schedule staff; organize and manage buffets and banquets; manage kitchen operations.
Essential skills: Reading text, writing, oral communication, working with others, decision making, significant use of memory
Other information: Public transportation is available. Experience in Hakka, Chinese, Thai or East African cuisine will be an asset. Must be effective and efficient worker.
