EC&M is seeking an Accounting Manager who thrives in working in a challenging work environment. The successful candidate will bring enthusiasm and initiative to the position.
This role will appeal to an independent accounting professional who is a confident leader that can work at all levels in a team environment.
The Accounting manager would enjoy working with management and all staff to develop and implement strategic goals and plans.
This position will involve communication at all levels to perform analysis and reporting to ensure the company meets its financial obligations and goals.
The responsibilities include but are not limited to;
• Supervise and maintain accounting procedures to properly capture, record balance and report the various financial journals.
• Maintain all routine and non-routine accounting journals and entries.
• Conduct credit research on prospective accounts and enforce company credit policies.
• Coordinate and supervise the activities of accounts receivable, accounts payable, invoicing, job costing, intercompany transactions and payroll.
• Prepare timely job costing reports for Project Managers for analysis.
• Prepare cash flow forecast based on expected inflows/outflows for planning and review with management.
• Develop and maintain internal controls to ensure the integrity of the information is maintained in the areas of receivables, payables, cash, other assets, revenue, job costs and expenses.
• Review and/or approve departmental, job and office related expenditures.
• Evaluate financial reporting systems and accounting procedures and make
Recommendations for changes to procedures and operating systems to improve efficiencies and/or reduce costs.
• Complete and file all regular tax forms and reports.
Qualifications
• 5+ years of accounting experience.
• Business degree or diploma required.
• Thorough understanding and application of general accepted accounting principles and practices.
• Experience working in the manufacturing and/or construction industries within a job costing environment would be considered an asset.
• Strong leadership, analytical and problem solving skills.
• Detail oriented, accurate, and thorough
• Highly organized with the ability to handle multiple tasks, duties and activities
• Take ownership and initiative to perform tasks, identify process improvement opportunities and gather required information with little direction
• Work with a sense of urgency when performing time sensitive tasks
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
• Proficient in using Microsoft Office 10 (Outlook, Word, Excel)
