In-House Web Programmer (full-time) (Calgary)

Our client is a fast-paced multimedia marketing firm that fosters a collaborative creative environment.
Your role as a programmer will be to develop and maintain commercial web sites. You will receive direction from experienced management and be part of a team that includes complementary resources such as graphic designers. A long waiting list of web design projects is assured through connections with growing enterprises that “get” the web and appreciate quality production.
This is a service-oriented job with an emphasis on efficiency and clean hand-offs to teammates and clients. There is a strong requirement for elegant code that conforms to the highest industry standards of practice. You will need to be ambitious and highly organized to be able to deliver top-quality results under inflexible deadlines.
The successful candidate will demonstrate a well-rounded combination of technical and social skills. On the one hand, you will need to be the go-to resource for a full range of critical technical knowledge, and be relied upon for a high degree of programming proficiency. On the other, you will need the interpersonal savvy to interact professionally and respectfully with other stakeholders.
You should know your way around HTML, CSS, PHP, Adobe Creative Suite, CMS, databases such as FileMaker and groupware such as Basecamp.
