CORE Services Inc. is a provider of Permanent staffing services. We are currently recruiting a Hardware Engineer for our client, a leader in the Electrical Manufacturing sector in Edmonton, AB.
Position: Hardware Engineer
Location: Edmonton, Alberta
Pay: $55,000 – $75,000 (our client will review Intermediate to Senior level candidates)

Position Summary:
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the successful candidate will work in the controls and monitoring group responsible for various aspects of product design, including but not limited to: writing low-level design and hardware interface specifications, writing the initial product architecture and requirements definition, evaluation of new components, detailed design of digital/analog circuits, schematic capture, PCB layouts, performing formal design validation, development of test procedures, supporting the transition of products to manufacturing, and preparing for and participating in design reviews. The candidate must be a self-starter, comfortable interacting regularly with other engineering groups (hardware, software, manufacturing, etc.) and with external component suppliers Key Job Requirements:
Responsibilities:
“ Ability to take design from concept to completion while working closely with other disciplines throughout the design cycle, to develop cost effective, high volume products.
“ Familiar with PCB layout techniques for EMC compliance
“ Experience with the design of products for CE, CSA, certification is considered an asset
“ Experience designing products that must meet CSA, UL requirements for hazardous areas is considered an asset
“ Adaptable and able to learn independently and quickly
“ Have strong information gathering skills. Know how to find information and have the ability to identify essential information
“ Demonstrated ability in: time management to meet deadlines, attention to detail, must be able to resolve complex technical issues or problems, learning subject matter quickly, communication and interpersonal skills
Qualifications:
“ Degree or diploma in electrical/electronic engineering
“ Minimum 5 years experience in analog/digital design
“ Minimum 5 years experience in the use of schematic capture/PCB layout and CAD tools.
“ Experience with PADS and Autocad is considered an asset
