altisSPR’s, Specialized Professional Resource Division, is currently recruiting for a Operations Manager for our national client.

DURATION OF CONTRACT: Indeterminate

LOCATION & TRAVEL: The positions are based in the following locations: 2 in Vancouver, 1 in Calgary and 1 in Halifax. The hours of work are based on shift coverage one for morning and one for evenings, which will be assigned upon hire. Relocation costs are not covered.

EDUCATION/TRAINING:
· This position requires a degree from a recognized university or community college with a specialization in Public Administration, Operations Management, security management or some other specialty relevant to the duties of the positions, or, an acceptable combination of education and related experience / training.

REQUIREMENTS:
· The consultant should have project and operation management experience and the ability to multitask and liaise with a number of different agencies across Canada.
· Strong working knowledge of quality assurance and stakeholders relations;
· Knowledge of the basic principles and practices of management and performance measurement;
· Have the ability to develop service standards, policies and procedures and demonstrated experience in conducting investigations and resolving conflicts;
· Consultants should have demonstrated experience in:
o working in a team environment and providing leadership;
o budgetary and contract administration in a service-orientated environment; establishing, liaising and sustaining relationships with a variety of stakeholders and clients; and
o presenting investigative analysis, advise and recommendations to various management levels.

RESPONSABILITES:
· Oversee the application of national security screening standards, policies, processes and procedures concerning Pre-boarding Screening, Hold Baggage Screening and Non-Passenger Screening to ensure consistent service delivery;
· Provide functional advice and guidance to Screening Contractors and their management/supervisory staff;
· Serve as a focal point for stakeholders in the region for assigned airports;
· Manage daily performance issues at designated airports, including monitoring staffing levels and, in consultation with the Regional Manager, adjusting screening coverage as demand variables change;
· Resolve screening deficiencies and contract violations with Screening Contractors;
· Manage daily oversight activities and assign specific priorities to the local Oversight Officer team;
· Manage and report on various performance and effectiveness measures;
· Investigate and manage issues pertaining to screening operations, regulatory requirements, and passenger and stakeholder complaints;
· Respond to and investigate screening incidents, equipment failures and emergencies affecting airport and civil aviation security at all assigned regional airports;
· Establish and preserve effective working relations with partners/stakeholders and maintain awareness of expectations;
· Collaborate with security partners and stakeholders as and when emergency events occur; and
· Coordinate all training requirements and equipment deployment activates at assigned regional airports.
