Immigrant Services Calgary is seeking a full-time Human Resources Manager to lead, develop, implement and oversee the Human Resources Department under the supervision of the CEO.
Duties:
• Responsible for the overall strategic planning of the HR department at the agency.
• Participate in and lead the agency HR component.
• Lead with vision, the Human Resources Department.
• Develop and implement a sustainable HR Strategy for the agency.
• Market the organization with various segments of the community.
• Facilitate and support the implementation of the Strategic Plan and Business Plan in regards to HR initiatives.
• Ensure that HR expenditures and salary allocation are in line with approved budgets.
• Management of payroll processes.
• Create, implement and participate in high level recruitment, retention and recognition strategies.
• Support other departments with the search for high caliber individuals.
• Prepare and update job descriptions as required.
• Ensure adherence to ISC policies, Alberta Employment Standards Code, and other relevant legislation.
• Identify and research staff training requirements and opportunities.
• Arrange professional development opportunities for ISC Staff in collaboration with the Senior Management Team.
• Update and amend the Operations and Personnel Policy Manual annually.
• Work actively to promote the HR Compensation agenda in Alberta.
• Ensure compensation and salary grids remain competitive.
• Oversee the Mentorship Initiative.
Qualifications:
• Degree/diploma in Human Resources, Change Management, Business.
• Demonstrated Valuing of Cultural diversity.
• 5 years of relevant work experience. CHRP designation would be an asset.
• Superior written and verbal communication skills.
• Leadership and project management experience.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Committed to innovation and leading edge best practices in HR.
• Computer and relevant software competency.
• Sound knowledge and experience with Alberta Employment Standards Code and other legislation.
• Familiarity with Human Rights, FOIP and PIPA.
• Posses and demonstrates confidentiality, organizational integrity and professional ethics.
